
Dolby theatre sound 5.1 encoding
Working on a cinema spot, forces you to work in a different way than you are used to. 2K resolution (which these days is becoming a more common format, since full HD has 2K resolution) makes you approach a project from a different angle.
With the amount of time at hand, given by the commisioner, we have to be sure what the possibilities are realistic and which are not. We are used to rendertimes in SD format, not in 2K. Calculate howmuch time it will cost to render a certain concept or idea… how much time do we need to mix 5.1 Dolby Digital audio…. etc.. etc…
It’s a good experience to be honost.. especialy the final stage, where it all comes together after post processing the final image and mixing the audio in a certified Dolby cinema.
